The Atlantic Spaceport Consortium leads the Portuguese contribution, in partnership with D-Orbit, Optimal Structural Solutions and Ilex Space, in a Boost! project, of the European Space Agency (ESA), within the scope of the program that aims to boost the creation of space access services – Commercial Space Transportation Services and Support Programme.
Led by D-Orbit UK, the “Responsive Microlauncher Service” project aims to coordinate all the logistics for placing small satellites into orbit, namely by creating standardized processes between the different European spaceports, as well as the manufacturers and operators of launch vehicles.
The objective of this project is to ensure that it will be possible to streamline the launch of small satellites, coordinating the entire logistics value chain, namely the reception, handling and integration of small satellites on the D-Orbit transporter, and this on the launch vehicle, at the spaceports from where they will be launched.
