ASC signed a cooperation agreement with NAV Portugal

The Atlantic Spaceport Consortium has signed a cooperation protocol with NAV PORTUGAL, the entity responsible for providing air traffic services in the Flight Information Regions (FIR) under the responsibility of the Portuguese State: Lisbon and Santa Maria.

The signed protocol aims to streamline communication processes between both parties, especially with regard to defining flight paths and the need to monitor and coordinate airspace within the national flight information regions, particularly in the Santa Maria FIR.

“Cooperation with NAV is essential for us. The ASC would like to thank NAV for its openness in helping us develop the correct procedures so that our operations and flights are well structured and coordinated within the Santa Maria FIR,” says Bruno Carvalho, CEO of ASC.

This protocol defines very specific responsibilities and duties for both parties, but it is hoped that it will evolve with the development of the Santa Maria Spaceport and its ecosystem. ASC firmly believes in the potential of Santa Maria Island for the implementation of a Spaceport and NAV PORTUGAL is an excellent and vital partner in this adventure.
